His nail polish was the same colour as his tattoos, the same blue-black as the grip tape on his skateboard. Recently married to an unhesitatingly supportive feminist woman, he’s still figuring out and aligning with his authentic self. But he didn’t always have that freedom.

“When I was young, I tried really hard to fit into bro culture, girls and that. Yet I also tried to deal with feelings I had for other boys and the experiences I had with them. It was like I was supposed to be walking on a path towards being a real man, but those feelings and experiences weren’t part of that path. So I tried to pretend they didn’t exist.”

“I wished I had someone I could talk to.”
